Dear One,
Breathe.
Inhale to the count of four, hold to the count of four, exhale to the count of four, pause to the count of four.
Repeat.
Pick up your prayer beads and chant a prayer or mantra that soothes your heart.
Step outside and greet the directions. Put your hands into the earth, lift your face to the wind and the sun and the rain.
Put on a favorite piece of music and move your body.
Brew some tea. Make some art. Play some tunes. Write. Bake. Garden. Do the things that bring you joy.
Reach out. Check on your neighbors. Ask your friends how they’re doing. Acquaintances too.
Be the one to reach out even if no one reaches out to you.
Allow yourself to fumble, to get it wrong, to make mistakes. Allow yourself to grieve. Cry and howl and rage as long as you need to.
Remember the practices that got you through the worst times of your life. Do those now.
We’ll get through this.
You’re not alone.
